Update: other reports are stating that the vote was 68- 32, and that one vote was corrected to a Nay after Kansas Rep. Jerry Moran mistakenly voted Yey. However, so far there still appears to be a tally disconnect with whats on the Senate webpage.
Here is the Senate Bill of S.744: BILLS-113s744rs, entitled “A Bill – To provide for comprehensive immigration reform and for other purposes”. It is 1922 pdf pages. The vote was 67 yey to 31 nay.
There are two related Senate bills: S.223, BILLS-113s223is, entitled, “A Bill to amend section 217 of the Immigration and Nationality Act to modify the visa waiver program, and for other purposes”, and S.616: BILLS-113s616is, entitled the “Conrad State 30 and Physician Access Act”.
There is also a related House bill: H.R. 490:BILLS-113hr490ih, entitled: “H.R.490 — Visa Waiver Program Enhanced Security and Reform Act (Introduced in House – IH)” and a House bill related to this one: H.R.1354, BILLS-113hr1354ih, entitled: “Jobs Originated through Launching Travel Act of 2013”, or the “JOLT Act of 2013 (Introduced in House – IH)”.
As we know, “related” bills, are often of different subject matter, but are frequently attached to major ones in order to assure their passage or as trade off. Its up to the House of Representatives now to pass this version, or one that can be reconciled with this one.
