[WASHINGTON — Fox News’ prime-time GOP presidential debate on Thursday was a huge success for the broadcaster, with initial ratings showing that an astonishing 16 percent of U.S. households tuned in. But the event may have been less beneficial to the Republican Party, which hoped, after its chaotic 2012 primaries, to select a presidential nominee in a more orderly, less divisive and less damaging fashion.]

Whether that 16% really represents 16% of 115,610,216 US census counted households or 16% of FOX News total reported 87,058,000 household viewers, its a very poor showing for providing voter information.

The rest is all smoke and mirrors; he said-she said, and storytelling by the media.

We will have wait a little longer to see, of all the strings being pulled, which puppet “Big Brother” will finally present for the bow and roses.

Gotta pull the Band-Aid off and let the air get to the entire wound.

When a whole bunch of people stand up for what’s right, things can start to change. Amazing. “Thousands Gather for Peace Event.

The biggest indication yet that the Confederate flag might be on its way to a museum is that Walmart has decided to stop selling items with that divisive logo.

Or, maybe they figured out that since California banned the flag in 2014 there wasn’t enough of a market.

PBS had this to say about the Confederate flag yesterday.

And other news, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia has been sold to these corporate developers(raiders).

Might not hurt to access that recipe you wanted, now.

Looks like Martha will do all right, though.

Did you know that rather than feral cats, environmental and habitat destruction are the primary  cause of declining bird populations?

Did you know that trapping, neutering and releasing (TNR) of feral cats is a better way to deal with population control? If you remove a colony, new un-neutered  or un-spayed ferals move into the vacuum created by the loss of the previous colony.

Did you know that the death rate for feral cats sent to the shelter is nearly 100%? Since most can’t be socialized they can’t be adopted. Individuals in managed feral colonies are healthier, quieter, less destructive, vaccinated against rabies, and have a life span comparable to pet cats.

Update: First gay couple prepares to be wed in Sacramento

[The first couple to show up at the Sacramento County Clerk’s office Friday were Sacramentans Nicola Simmersbach and Diana Luiz, who have been together seven years.

“I didn’t think this would happen today,” Simmersbach said. “This isn’t really what we planned on wearing but we’re here.”

“We’ve been fighting on the Capitol steps for this moment,” Luis said….

Offices will be open until 7:00 PM tonight and closed over the weekend. They are suggesting that anyone who wants to get married on Monday register online first to speed up the process. See HERE.

Update: At Governor Jerry Brown’s to urging to expedite the issue, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit has lifted the ban on Gay Marriage in California.

With the earlier directive by Brown to all 58 Counties to start issuing licenses, the 25 day wait till the court ruled has been eliminated.
