Update: Amazing, but it looks like SB5 DID NOT PASS!! they are agreeing that the vote was completed art 12:02 AM. What a great job the Texas Democrats and the Gallery did tonight!
Update: It passed. People are outside protesting. I can’t help but think that there are more than a few recently transplanted Californians down there that aren’t very happy right now, what with this and the recent sonogram law Texas passed.
Update: Heartbreaking, the crowd is yelling in order to stop the vote from being tallied, can it happen? After 12 and they are still counting.
Update: at 11:29 they have managed to argue the third point of order as to germaneness this far-can they keep it up?
Update at 10:09 the third point of order that would break the filibuster looks to be about to happen.
Have you checked this out? Its a 13 hour filibuster, to close out a special Texas congressional session on a piece of legislature called SB5, and she is going until 12 midnight Texas time.
The Texas right is trying to get the 20 week abortion bill passed, but the Democrat minority is trying to keep the filibuster up till the midnight deadline after which the bill may have to be be reintroduced.
She can’t leave the floor, take a pee, lean on the podium , or accept help that requires touching for the full 13 hours.
