Remember to take a black ink pen tomorrow, fill the ovals completely, and complete both sides of the ballot. My county has a two-card four-paged ballot this time, even though page two is blank. If you make a mistake ask for another ballot. I always take my pre-marked voters pamphlet or a cheat sheet that I can refer to, especially for the judges, and measures.
I thought this election would never end; the most exhausting thing since I don’t know what. For some, however, November 5th will be worse. The Southern Poverty Law Center put out an article on dealing with the aftermath in the classroom for 6th grade and up. It might be adults who are voting, but children are affected too. So give a thought to the next few days and a coping plan, for you and all around you.
Oh, What’s this PUMA doing? – I’ll know when I walk in. Turns out I’m one of those 3% truly undecided voters. Well, not entirely. After the primary, I asked my self if there was value in voting “topless” or writing HRC as a protest against the machinations of the DNC and the terrible dishonest, race baiting misogynistic behavior exhibited by the Obama Campaign. I still can’t get over how the media is still touting his supposed 3 million donors, and the bald-faced lying Axelrod commits around this issue.
However, I digress. In California it turns out that neither topless, nor write in votes are a good idea, since your vote may be discarded. Technically only the single vote would be discarded, not your whole ballot. However, if they discount because your writing is unreadable, can you be sure they will stop there? If I leave it blank, will someone fill it in? So I must put someone. I find I have less trust these days. Hmmm. Will it be the person who might beat Obama and has promoted women, or the Green party, closer to my inclinations, but likely to lose? Hmmm.
