HONG KONG: Macau authorities say an eighth child in the Chinese gambling enclave has developed a kidney stone after drinking milk possibly tainted with the industrial chemical melamine.

Yili’s dairy products have been found to contain melamine, a chemical used to make plastics and fertilizer. Melamine-tainted dairy products in China have sickened 54,000 children and have been blamed in the deaths of four infants.
The government’s statement Friday said the boy developed a small kidney stone but gave no details about his condition.
Calls to a Macau government information officer went unanswered Saturday.
