Real News places a great deal of information in their videos. In dial up of course, this is a problem. However, this article also contains a partial transcript of the interview, located at the bottom of the page. If the video is annoying, just click the two bars at the bottom left of the video to stop it.

This year, so far, melamine has been found in Chinese originated: milk, infant formula, candies, yoghurts, and other dairy products, cream sauces, baked goods where dairy products are incorporated, some baking powers, and sex products. (And I think the question should be asked of breaded items, like fishsticks, where dairy may be incorporated.) Last year it was found in: flours, rice, pet foods, fish, fowl, and hog foods. Is there any doubt that the use of melamine is widespread in china?
Is there any question, that a global economy requires global inspection? Despite the daily struggles of those souls trying to stem the tide, is there any doubt we don’t have that?

I bought my first home at the end of 1995. It was a 1950’s starter home, built in the big growth period that identified so much of the California Baby Boom generation. It was a familiar sort of home and neighborhood, since my early days were spent in such homes when they were new. It was a fixer, and I paid a little less then $90,000. Even then that was a steal. My neighbor, in back of me had paid $115,000, for his; a couple of years prior. (more…)

It’s getting late! Trick or Treat for UNICEF; Get your box now!
Want to help kids in other parts of the world get the things they need to survive and grow?
You’ve got the power to do it!
This October, make Halloween count by Trick-or-Treating for UNICEF. You can help us get water, education and medicine to the children who need it most.
Getting involved is easy and fun!
First, you’ll need a box. Order boxes online, or create your own using this canister wrapper.
Then go door-to-door on Halloween—or create your own fundraiser—and ask everyone to help you raise money for kids around the world.
Once you’ve collected the money, send it to UNICEF to help save kids lives.
And be sure to celebrate your success once you’re done!
