PUMAS YES! JEROME CORSI NO!

Supporting each man on top of the tide

The Hunting of the Snark- Lewis Carroll
Recently on BlogTalk Radio My-Two-Cents, the subject of Jerome Corsi came up again. So here is my view: Jerome Corsi is a right winged rabid bat bigoted sexist hatemonger that should be netted and succumb to his disease before he infects anyone else.
The longer you let a rabid bat feed, the more he infects. THEREFORE, DO NOT BUY HIS BOOK! DO NOT SUPPORT THE INFECTION OF FUTURE GENERATIONS! I’m not saying don’t read it. It’s always good to know the enemy. Just go to the library, or borrow it from one of those who succumbed and didn’t know his history. I know that I am probably giving the Free Republic a jolly just because they think this kind of thing is good advertisement. Here goes anyway.
It was just August 14th that Howard Dean sent out a distress call asking Democrats for help in combating this Anti-Obama book. At the time, I refused to help because Jerome Corsi has done plenty to attack the Clintons in his day and the Dems never lifted a finger in this regard. However, it is clear that the Corsi disease carriers are spreading rapidly and must be quarantined from PUMAs not already infected. For the PUMA’S who have been bitten, I offer the following smelling salts and hope you will make efforts to get well.
Corsi is 62. That’s right! He received a PhD from Harvard in 1972. He has been publishing since 1972. Labeling himself an activist, he’s been a teacher at the University of New Mexico, Denver, and Franconia College. He claims the Republican Party, but he’s really a Freeper.
He has long been on the Southern Poverty Law Center’s radar. Here is a recent article from them:
Bestselling Anti-Obama Fabulist Appears On White Supremacist Radio Show

Myth monger Jerome Corsi is at it again.
The author notorious for his book falsely vilifying 2004 presidential candidate John Kerry has penned an equally spurious [1] attack on this year’s presumed Democratic nominee. The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality, released on Aug. 1, has taken less than two weeks to clinch the number one spot on The New York Times bestseller list. (It’s not that Corsi is any fan of presumptive Republican nominee John McCain; Corsi has accused McCain of being supported by a group with ties to Al Qaeda and vowed that he would not support the Republican candidate.)
While the book’s popularity is beyond dispute, its content is not. The website Media Matters recently [2] documented Corsi’s numerous untrue or misleading allegations.
That his book is rife with inaccuracies hasn’t stopped Corsi from promoting it on dozens of talk shows, where he has peddled additional falsehoods about Obama. On Fox News’ Hannity’s America, for instance, he made the [3] ludicrous claim that Obama supports abortion “after a child’s born.”
Perhaps Corsi’s most telling appearance, however, has been on [4] The Political Cesspool, an overtly racist, anti-Semitic radio show hosted by self-avowed white nationalist James Edwards. Corsi was interviewed on the Cesspool on July 20 and is [5] scheduled to appear again this Sunday, August 17, joining a recent guest roster that has included Christian Identity pastor Pete Peters, Holocaust denier Mark Weber and former Klan boss David Duke.
Along with promoting Corsi’s appearances, Edwards is boasting on his website that the three-hour weekly show will join the Republic Broadcasting Network in September. This conspiracy-minded network, heard via satellite and the web, features talk about a sinister “New World Order” and wild theories about the causes of 9/11. Shows that air on the network include The Piper Report, named after host Michael Collins Piper, who has contributed to the holocaust denial magazine The Barnes Review, and Mark Dankof’s America, which has interviewed Weber, director of the Institute for Historical Review, a leading Holocaust denial group.
In fairness, I think the SPLC later reported he cancelled the appearance at the last minute. However, considering his history he was likely worried more about timing than ethics disagreements. Interestingly, it appears that almost the entire Internet, with the exception of the reference I found at NNDB today, has been scrubbed of any references to Corsi prior to 2004. Now I know that the Freeper network is pretty good at removing stuff with a shelf life. They would rather leave up just long enough to get your head confused and then drop it before you can reference it. However, the Free Republic References, back to 2001 should give you a hint he has been around longer than his most recent book, or even his book on Kerry. He is a contributor to Human Events, an organization that lists the “Feminine Mystique” as the 7th most harmful book, right under Marx’s “Das Kapital”. He is also a Senior Strategist at theVangard.org.
Plus, the fact that he doesn’t like Bush or McCain either, should tell you something about his viewpoint.
Maybe some of you will remember this his involvement in Great “NAFTA Superhighway” Conspiracy around 1998.
I’m not saying it isn’t darkly amusing when he goes after the likes of Daily Kos and “juvenile Leftist Bloggers, but it’s going to be a pyrrhic victory if he wins more influence from PUMAs. This is the man that called Hillary “HELLERY” AND “FAT HOG” Clinton.
Information and truth are the best defense against Corsi’s boojum. Unfortunately, right now media hype and book sales are the informants of our political race. Don’t let this wave of half-truths and misinformation fool you. The best fabulists always put just the right mix together to make the whole story seem real. Now you know: read with a critical eye, and DON’T BUY THE BOOK!
