“No enterprise is more likely to succeed than one concealed from the enemy until it is ripe for execution.”

– MACHIAVELLI

2004 was a tragic year, for it was the year that the DNC Civil War started. Having been in the wilderness for years, the bridgehead was not reached, and ashen despair marked the brow of the Liberals. It was the year that the Liberals followed the Muse over to the dark side. Rather than fight Machiavelli, they added him to their email list. Rather than fight the Republicans, they decided to dump the whole shebang and throw everyone under the bus. In a effort to prevent the final death, they let the Great Bat in at night. (more…)

Although I had a dental appointment and missed it, it appears from Hillary’s website that a fine light, but strictly scripted web chat was had. Any public chat is not going to produce the words that most PUMAs would love to hear. We can’t know the details or what is really going on in “negotiations” in preparation for the Convention. Those Darn Nit Pickers

The mind wobbles at this soap opera. Imagine for a moment that the story about Senator Obama’s Citizenship raises enough cry that the general media does take it up.

What happens next? (more…)

Sometimes Things Turn Out Unexpectedly

“Fancy rules over two thirds of the universe, the past and future, while reality is confined to the present.”

Jean Paul Richter

In the late seventies, due to economic changes and events in my family, we found ourselves in a small town in Eastern Washington, where my husband had obtained a job. It was a fragile time. I had left college again as a consequence of this necessary move, just as I had nine months prior, left work in order to go to back to school. Our daughters had left their friends and community roots. My husband, after working as an urban planner, took a job as laborer’s foreman at a nuclear power plant. (more…)

The latest counter offer from Denver, relative to the placement of anticipated protesters  at(?) the DNC Convention, is presented. The ACLU says they don’t have enough information to comment.

I’m telling you, 200 feet away from the delegates, or is it to be 400 feet away?

Protesters, with bullhorns.

Caged behind cyclone fencing.

This is bound to be a heck of a scary sight for those poor nervous delegates- better push it back another 100 feet just to be sure we don’t stampede them!

I wonder what the occupancy limit, for 53,000 square feet of “protest” set aside area, is?  Can we equal Invesco?

CAMPAIGN FINANCE

I just got another donor request pleading for donations to the DNC. This prompted me to think about the status of Obama/McCain donations. As you are probably aware, we don’t usually get to see the data until around the 20th of the following month. However, the Candidates campaigns must account for their funds accumulated on an end of month basis. The DNC is attempting to coordinate their push with the needs of all their candidates. Thus, the plea for contributions before midnight has arrived. I checked in with the League of Women Voters. See their thoughts on presidential campaign finance disclosure thus far:

League, Reform Groups Compare Senators McCain and Obama on Donor Disclosures

The League and reform organizations sent follow-up letters to Senators McCain and Obama seeking full disclosure of donor information on bundlers to their presidential campaigns. The groups also released a chart that compares how far each candidate has come in meeting the groups’ requests for transparency and disclosure.

In case you have been hibernating under a rock, or vacationing on the Galapagos lately, there has been an ongoing debate over the state of Senator Obama’s “Birth Certificate” and citizenship. No Quarter has been keeping tabs. What is wanted, of course, is transparency, just like for all those IL State Senate papers we have never seen. Check this out and read the supporting links in the blog:
